Covenant Academy’s philosophy is based upon a Christian worldview holding that God
is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, the ultimate reality, and the source and
essence of all goodness and truth. All creation is related to Him and has the purpose of
glorifying Him.
We believe the Bible, as the infallible and inspired Word of God, to be the final and
authoritative revelation of God concerning all matters of faith, truth and practice. God
reveals Himself through nature, through history, and, most explicitly, through Jesus
Christ, His Son. Therefore, Christ and the Bible must be central to every subject or
activity allowing the biblical viewpoint to permeate the entire school program.
Man is the creation of God apart from any so-called evolutionary process and is of
infinite worth. Man is also a sinner by nature and by choice because of the fall of Adam.
He is separated from God and is incapable of glorifying God apart from the atoning death
of Jesus Christ by which men are reconciled to God. It is only through the reconciling
work of Christ that man’s needs can be met.
Effective education can best be accomplished in an environment that recognizes that all
truth is God’s truth. Because all wisdom and knowledge are based upon the fear of the
Lord, only a redeemed person can fully understand truth as revealed by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, all personnel of Covenant Academy must have a personal commitment to
Jesus Christ, and must serve as role models for the students (II Timothy 4:12).
Scripture clearly teaches that parents are responsible for the total education of their
children. Teachers and administrators assist the parents, helping them fulfill their Godgiven
responsibilities. The home, school, and church should together prepare the student
for a life of fellowship with God and service to man.
In all matters relating to the discipline in and conduct of this school and its students,
teachers and other employees shall maintain discipline in the school, including the school
grounds owned or leased by Covenant Academy and used for school purposes and
activities. Teachers and other designated employees shall stand in the relation of parents
and guardians of the students of Covenant Academy. This relationship shall extend to all
activities connected to the school program, including all athletic and co-curricular
activities.
