"...equip and inspire authentic leaders for Christ."

  • Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, and we proclaim him Lord and Savior of the world.

  • There is one God in three persons –Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • The Bible is the inspired authoritative and perfectly revealed, Word of God.

  • Jesus, the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified and died for our sins. He rose again, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

  • Salvation and everlasting life are free gifts from God received through faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

  • The Holy Spirit dwells in Christians and helps us as we strive to live in a manner more like Christ.

In 2008 several young families in Kerr County expressed the desire for an independent Christ-centered private school. Led by the Scriptures...

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. (Deuteronomy 6:6-8 ESV)

...the Lord placed it upon the hearts of a group of teachers and parents to help meet that need and thus, Covenant Academy was formed as an inter-denominational Christ-centered private school, serving children from the entire Kerr County region. During the inaugural 2009-2010 school year classes were held at First Christian Church in Kerrville. When the school outgrew the classroom space in its first year, Covenant relocated to Hill Country Camp for the 2010-2011 school year. And beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, Covenant moved to its current and hopefully long-term home in the education building of Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 210 Spence Street in Kerrville. Covenant continues to expand and grow every year and it is our prayer that one day soon we will be a full service PreK - 12 facility that sends young adults to college prepared and equipped to be authentic leaders for Christ!

About Me: I am so thrilled to be a part of the fabulous team here.  I was born in Kerrville and raised on a dairy farm here with parents who loved The Lord and raised me and my seven siblings to know His love and grace. I graduated from Tivy High School and went on to college at Schreiner University and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.  After working there for a couple of years, I returned home and started teaching and did so for 27 amazing years in public and private schools.  After earning a Master's degree, I then started working as a principal for the last 6 years.  I love school and everything about it!  School is the most fun place to be and working with children is the best part! My husband Frankie and I have been married thirty years and have four wonderful children with one sweet grand boy!

We believe that a key to a successful Christian school is the quality of its faculty and staff. We are seeking applicants who are professionally qualified; who are dedicated to Christ, children, and academic excellence; and who, by the pattern of their lives, are Christian role models (Luke 6:40). We invite you to complete the appropriate application and return it to our school HR office. If an opening occurs for which you may qualify, we will contact you to arrange an interview as well as contact your references.

The faculty and board of Covenant Academy are committed to providing the families of Kerr County with a Christ-centered learning environment, where excellence in academics goes hand-in-hand with Biblical values and morals. At each stage of the learning and development process, each student’s learning style (visual, auditory, tactile) is assessed and integrally used to elicit their highest academic and creative potential.
