It is with great joy and an awesome sense of responsibility that the entire staff at Covenant Academy partner with parents in the Spiritual formation and development of their children. We acknowledge that Spiritual formation starts with the hearing of God's Word. It is through God's Word that He reveals Himself and His purposes. Because of this truth, His Word stands preeminent as a staple throughout the curriculum at Covenant.
“And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be first in your own minds and hearts; then you shall sharpen them so as
to make them penetrate, and teach and impress them diligently upon the minds and hearts of your children, and you shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-8 (Amplified Bible)
History
For quite some time, many of the young families of Kerr County have expressed the desire for an independent Christ-centered private school. The Lord placed it upon the hearts of a group of teachers and parents to help meet that need. We formed Covenant Academy, which is has been accepting
enrollment for the 2009-10 school year for Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.
However, without the “kindergarten ministry” and involvement of Judy Carpenter, Covenant Academy would not be a reality today. Mrs. Carpenter has been teaching in Kerrville for twenty-five years, and it is her approach of offering each student a truly individualized education
that leads to waiting lists for her kindergarten class every year. Mrs. Carpenter’s proven approach to teaching was at the heart of the initiative to extend this school through sixth grade.
